Greetings and Salutations, my name is Andy Wigzell, living on God's green earth in Texas. I play a Cannonball Tenor Saxophone, a 1968 Selmer Mark VI Alto, and a Cannonball Soprano. I don't attempt to sound like any other sax player but look for my own sound and sometimes it looks for me. Now the boring stuff:
I was late to the Junior High School Band audition day. I wanted to play drums. I even took lessons during the summer. The drum section was already full so I had to pick another instrument. I saw a picture of a sax in a dictionary and I thought, Maybe I could play that. I was terrible- all the way thru school, last chair, second chair, that kind of stuff. Then I started jamming in Tech school days and never put it down. I am playing win MR CJ's a well established local band of about 12 years or so... I don't know. It's a funk, rock, 70-new century band. Mardi Gras New Orleans style at times with Trombone, Tuba, clarinet, trumpet , sax section.... We all love what we do. I also collaborate with Toveco - he generally knows wonderful musicians that gives me a lot of space to play.
