The caliph therefore married a woman each day, and executed her the next day. Scherezade was the daughter of the Grand Vizier, and she came up with an idea. She asked the Caliph if she could invite her sister over since it was the last night of her life, and she proceeded to tell her sister a story, but, alas, became too sleepy to finish it. The Caliph was so interested in hearing the end of the story that he spared her life. After 1001 nights, she said to him that in that time she had borne him three children (I think it was three) and would he kill the mother of his children? They lived happily ever after, or so I am told. However, it is a folk tale or myth, as opposed to a true story about an actual person
