There are two postings on iBandstand of a song titled “Dreams Fade Away”. This song was generated by sumo.com from lyrics written by Grathy. I was captivated by the song but bemused by the section where AI had added extra bars and chords. The next day I sent Grathy a clip where I had modified the AI track. The next step was to create a backing track in a lower key for Grathy and re-record the song. We both agree it should be in a higher key but that may yet come if we can find another singer.

Where do I stand on AI music? My experience of writing songs was honed in rehearsal rooms and recording studios where ideas were thrashed out on the spot. My immediate response to an AI song is to try and mould it into something better. Is there a process where AI will accept feedback?

 It has helped me tremendously with trying to get outside of my comfort zone. if we're not learning something in this world, what are we here for? 
Well, this is a non-AI song, at least in its final form. But it was initially inspired by some computer help.

I really like it. I like how it departs from the usual 12 bar progression in the chorus. Those chord changes are interesting. My only gripe is that I would like to hear a real bass guitar and electric guitar.

This is a really cool song. Very well done. And the key of the song is perfect.
On AI. I'd like to know if a song is entirely IA so I do not sound like a sucker appraising how well the poster plays a certain instrument. But IA is new and needs to find its best use.
My wish for music IA as a pretty poor musician is to have it aid my creativity. I would love the current sites to be able to deliver a song as bith stems and midi. And I would love to be able to upload a sniplet of midi and have the AI give me something I would never have made up myself back. A bit like we can now with lyrics. It will come soon I am sure

So, second country song I listen to with Mary to day :-) Sounds good to my ears. AI should help in music composition but shouldn't replace completely composers.

This is an enjoyable listen, but mainly because of Mary's wonderful voice.
As for AI, the day will come when we all regret it was ever created...

Thank you, everyone and for Roger stepping up to the plate to help me create a real song out of my previous AI creations. It's been an interesting journey so far and I really wish I could sing so many other types of music but as I get older, my voice has gotten deeper and my range is not as broad. So I will continue doing what I do… Mainly blues and jazz… With a little help from my friends with AI from time to time.
