I had so many problems I could never get my fill

Tried to do right, but it always went wrong
So I thought I'd try to write a song

It's ok now because the tunes are coming to me
It's the music that always set me free

Songs are the way to get out of your funk
Better than pills and screwing and even getting drunk

-Money for nothing-

Music is a better way to be
Sure way of getting out your misery

So much safer than toting a gun
Or from the law being on the run

Music has saved me
All these songs setting me free
