There is Edger on my walk, 
If you listen, he will squawk, 
His ibis beak so long and red 
Worms are all he wants he said.

He’s my ibis friend
Amusement til the end
I love to hear him talk.

Rain brings them out upon the lawn, 
Especially when it’s early dawn,
His fellows come to join the feast, 
To them it’s an early morning treat.

I try to see him every day, 
And hope he keeps my worms at bay, 
He looks at me with morning fear. 
I guess that’s why he won’t come near.
