Song information
Back on this day in 1969 Apollo 11 landed on the Moon. A few weeks later, to mark the occasion, I took the stage at Woodstock with a certain quartet of musicians to perform a song commemorating the occasion...

Or at least that WOULD have happened had I been at Woodstock, known Crosby, Stills, Nash or Young and hadn't been 2 years old at the time. But back in 2019 on the old MacJams we marked the 50th anniversary of Woodstock with a song challenge and this is what I came up with.

I thought it would be fitting to repost a remixed and remastered version here today.

Lyrics
Mr. Moon
2019 Joseph Gurner

Mr. Moon can you see us
looking down from way up in the sky
everybody running round
our busy lives never asking why

Why are we fighting
Why do we hate
Why can’t we save this world
before it gets too late

Mr. Moon we came to say hello
our rocket ships have blasted to you home
we came in peace for all mankind
but still make war with those who aren’t our own

Can’t we find our peace
Spread love around the land
Mr. Moon can you help us
take us by the hand

Mr. Moon will you shine on us
and help us find our way through the night
open everybody’s heart
show us all the way into the light

Mr. Mooooooon
Mr. Mooooooon
Mr. Mooooooon
Mr. Mooooooon

Mr. Moon can you see us
Mr. Moon can you help us
Mr. Moon can you stop the hate
is it much too late

Mr. Moon now we’ve flown away
left you in the sky all alone
maybe we’ll come back some day
and shine this light of peace upon our home

Mr. Mooooooon
Mr. Mooooooon
Mr. Mooooooon
Mr. Mooooooon

Mr. Moon can we find our peace
Can we find our peace
Cane we find our peace

I realy like the message and retro feel.   This could very well have been a hit in 1969 or '70.   Cool harmonies you got there as well.

This is fabulous Joseph! Sounds totally vintage.
One of the best faux live tracks I've ever heard.
(I've done a few myself... this is BETTER!)
