Song information
Another beautiful interpretation of this great Jazz standard by Mary that I accompany with a bass track.
Body and Soul is a popular song written in 1930 by Edward Heyman, Robert Sour, Frank Eyton and Johnny Green. Libby Holman introduced it in her review Three’s a Crowd and it is used in the film Blood and Gold (Body and Soul). Body and Soul has become a jazz standard with hundreds of versions recorded by dozens of artists, notably Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra. Jazz tenor saxophonist Coleman Hawkins recorded an iconic version on October 11, 1939, considered one of his greatest solos (source Wikipedia)
