I was blown away when I first heard the album Focus. Focus is a jazz album recorded in 1961, featuring Stan Getz on tenor saxophone with a string orchestra, piano, bass, and drums. The album is a suite, which was originally commissioned by Getz from composer and arranger Eddie Sauter. This was considered Third Stream meaning Jazz and Classical. Sauter's orchestration did not include melodies for Getz. Rather, Sauter left spaces in the arrangements in which Getz would improvise. Soulima’s composition is just as Incredible and reminds of the possibilities for a Third Stream collaboration. I am no Stan Getz by any standard but Soulima created an orchestration and composition that Sauter would love. I added 1:00-2:24.
