Another song in the Tiki/Exotica genre popular in the 1950’s/1960’s, made on my iPad. Hoping to have enough of these for an album someday. I’ve always wanted to visit an Island paradise. Making these songs may be the closest I ever get.
I love the Tiki genre of the past .. This was so playful and yet elegant...You've captured the spirit of Tiki....Very wide stereo mix with some of that percussion.. I swear it came alive and jumped out of my headsets- nicely, of course
Hey, you could always check out one of the Hawaiian islands, or check out Tulum in Mexico... or Costa Rica (I've heard it's beautiful, but kind of rough getting around there). Or if you're willing to go farther, there's Thailand (Chiang Mai is cooler than the southern part of the country and you can see the elephants up close there)... Even if you never go, these could be some points of inspiration.
First thing in my head before listening is I wonder if he's got any steel drums.....and then boom..there they are, Ha. Nice clean track. Simple..pretty melody. Different instruments taking the spotlight ..Perfect in my book. Do we have a "follow" button?
