Zoomorphisms refers to having the shape, form, or likeness of an animal; the use of animal forms in symbolism, literature, or representation. The eighth in a series of miniatures, this is the Tiger Shark. There's many unusual orchestral effects in this little piece: Bartok pizzicati, flutter tongued woodwinds and brasses, string harmonics (double bass) and other assorted timbres. The odd rhythm stems from oscillating time signatures of 7/16 and 2/4.
