This one won a finalist prize in an international composition contest and some moolah, back in the day. The coolest thing about that (yes, I had to claim the prize as income on my taxes) was that the judges were Carter Burwell, and John Corigiliano - both big cheeses in the film music and classical music scenes. I also got some valuable feedback from them.
A symphonic overture. The piece has a fast, rhythmically propulsive 'A' section, a contrasting meditative 'B' section, and a recap with some extensions.
