Song information
A fresh original country-western inspired rock tune I recorded with a session drummer. Everything is mixed, and mastered on Logic Pro using only stock plug-ins. Vocals recorded on a Neumann U67 style tube condenser mic soldered and built from a DIY kit. Howlin’ and other background noise by my 2yo daughter.

Lyrics
Hey now
I’ve been gone too long
Wrote you this silly little song
I lost my head for a minute
This time I really stepped in it

Ah I was blind and now I see again
Ah I been driving down this road for too long

I been eating my own lies
Doggedly hunting for my prize
Am I someone’s wayward son?
Ego tells me I’m the one
Ego tells me I’m the one

Ah I was blind and now I see again
Ah I been driving down this road for too long
So let’s ditch our wheels and bathe in the river’s end
Trade our chrome for some peace of mind

I been… walking for a mile or ten
Thinkin’… will I shed this skin again
If these old bones get stuck in the middle
We’ll chip ‘em little by little
Chippin’ him little by little

Ah I was blind and now I see again
Ah I been driving down this road
For too long
Now I’m finally breathing free
And I’m finally seeing you

Very cool song and production. Love the almost-reggae groove and slide mixed... Oh, and the howlin' too !
