Song information
A bluesy folk-rock song inspired my personal story. But it also finds inspiration from several members at MacJams who have sought after "that something" (or still are) without ever attaining that elusive "gift." Some of lyrics are based on parts of Ecclesiastes. The song features some excellent guitar riffs and fill by Craig (snowdragon). I provide the guitar instrumental solo with my excursion into the world of the Wah.

Craig Bakay: lede guitar fills, ambient backup vocals
Jack: vocal, backup harmony vocals, acoustic guitar, wah guitar, bass, organ.

Lyrics
Drawn Into The Light Music & Lyrics by Jack Miller 2006

So tell me now what does a man gain
From all the works of his hands?
Is it so many castles in the sky?

 A generation goes and
 A generation comes
Is there anything new under heaven's eye?

 Refrain:

But a fresh breeze is blowing from the east.
Seems like the weather's gonna change.
A voice calls out, "Harden not your heart!"
 Something new is going on
 Something's gonna change
As I find myself drawn into the light.
As I find myself drawn into the light.

When I consider all the things I have sought
All the sweat and the toil
 Nothing gained for treasure spent.

Make a mark, become a name
 Chasing down the wind
 Was this vanity heaven sent?

 [Refrain]

What advantage does the wiseman have
 Over the fool?
What will be with the setting of the sun?

Maybe life's just some cruel joke
 Just a twist of Fate?
On the edge the questions come.

 [Refrain]
