A couple friends have asked me why I haven't been around. Well... As I wrote in my recent blog, apart from a few poorly recorded oldies all I have left in my back catalog are some political songs.
While some are too strong for release in these overly tense times a few of the less extreme ones might prove enjoyable.
It's a hard thing for me to gauge...
I have a bluegrass satire that I'd love to post but it might anger any Marxists on this site. Too bad... it's kinda funny.
This song, on the other hand, can be---I hope---enjoyed whether one is Right Wing, Left Wing, or Independent.
So here I am going out on the limb a little...
Be well my friends!

I just don't have time to type them up right now. I think they come out pretty clear anyway...
I dunno... release whichever songs strike your fancy. After all, it's impossible to know how someone will react to a piece of artwork, a song, a speech... until it is shown / sung / spoken. I think most of us here are on the "mature" side anyway and we can handle opinions fairly well. :) And this was a good one.
This has a great kick to it ... Great lyrics and amazing vocals.. I am reminded of the talented B52s and got this pumping out in my lil studio and our new puppy ( Alfie ) appears to be enjoying this as much as my wife and I 👌👌
CONFESSION TIME: I really had a h e l l of a time singing "Jump back! Jump back!" I must have recorded that line twenty times before I got the pitch right. Then I cut and pasted it in wherever else it was needed, because I wasn't able to hit it just right again. LOL...
You are much too kind with those wild comparisons! Funny thing is that, with the exception of Mark Knopfler, I've never listened to those other bands. I've been aware of them but never pursued them.
Great tune Mike. Enjoyed this one.You know where I sit on the political fence :)So there is no need for me get political. I will look forward in reading the lyrics when you get the chance to publish them. And take another listen.
Great song mike... punkish guitar and a boogie beat makes great foot stomping rock and roll. Great lyrics too. I agree with @Neumuzik . Communication is a good thing and we are here to listen.
@Wyndsok Mike, as long as you mention it in your song description (beware : politics), i dont see why you shouldnt post those political songs. We may not share your views, but we can act like adults and not reduce you to some line in your lyrics. You're much more than that. You're a musician. And a mighty good one. I feel that - for my part - i'm absolutely not supporting the leaders you mentionned in some previous posts (esp. the french one...) BUT i will listen, enjoy, and support your work anyway. So please, fire away ! (oh and btw : love this tune, and the guitar riffs are killer).
I deeply appreciate your comments on this song and on my liner notes.
I think most here are pretty mature when it comes to politics. Folk might be
surprised to know that for me it's mostly about choosing the lesser of two evils; and that this is not a matter of ideology but of long term effects and results. This is the world and its always been a dangerous place. I probably should have labed this song "explicit." I just might go and make the correction. As for the rest, participation seems to be declining over all for whatever reasons, and one reason why I expressed hesitation to post certain songs is I do not want to unwittingly contribute to that phenomenon. Oh well, I'm starting to ramble. That usually means it's time for me to shut my trap.
Your voice took another dimension on this one.. Reminded me a tiny bit of Devo!.. Rapid fire lyrics.. you keep topping yourself and I loved the phaser at the end. From reading the comments, I find it interesting that members here are more mature than many of the elite recording artists. This is so far my Favorite of yours
