Song information
After more than a century of dreaming, humanity finally built a colony on Mars. But within weeks, a new strain of COVID wiped out the crew, leaving the base silent.
In the medical bay, a single infant survived inside a humming crib. The colony’s robots detected the child and became guardians, feeding, teaching, and protecting it.
When Earth received the final transmissions, a rescue mission was launched. Yet the voyage would take five years—by then, the child would be raised not by humans, but by machines.
The world watched live feeds of robots cradling the child and teaching it through glowing holograms, mesmerised by the “Last Child of Mars.”
When astronauts finally arrive, what will they find? A frightened orphan—or something new, shaped by both humanity and machines?

Lyrics
“Child of the Red Dawn” by Gerald G

Verse 1
A century we waited, eyes turned to the sky,

Built a world on ashes, where dust and silence lie.

Dreams of crimson cities, rising out of stone,

But shadows came to claim them, now the child’s alone.

Verse 2
Machines became your teachers, voices cold and true,

Stories of the vanished, who dreamed the world for you.

Five years till they reach you, five years till they come,

Five years of the silence, five years in the sun.

Chorus
Child of the red dawn, hidden in the light,

Carried by the circuits, through an endless night.

Whispers of the future, echo in your hands,

Alone on the frontier, waiting for the land.

Instrumental

Bridge
Screens flicker with faces, ghosts that never age,

A virus wrote their ending, a colony’s last page.

But still the heart is beating, inside the capsule’s glow,

The last of Mars is waiting, the world will never know.

Chorus
Child of the red dawn, guardian of flame,

Raised by steel and silence, you’ll carry on the name.

When Earth’s ships break the distance, through the dust & scars,

You’ll be the first of many, the soul of human Mars.

Wonderful concept for a cool novel or a film. Well produced song, all the pieces fit. Hard to live up to your story, but I think it did. Well done.
