Song information
I posted this one before, but the vocal track has been redone and there have been some minor changes to the lyrics so.
The Jack in the title is Jack Ruby and this tune was written after reading "The Death Of A President," by William Manchester. The first two words in the song are "Sunburst Friday," which, of course, refers to the date Kennedy was killed and the first line in the second verse is "Ain't no lucky Monday," which was Ruby's first full day in jail after he killed Oswald. In spite of the subject matter, the music on this one iis relatively upbeat with a swing feel and the lyrics do their best to reflect the mysteries and weird stuff and that go along with such a complex case or story.

Lyrics
On sunburst Friday
Did you feel your heart would burn
Did you seem so unconcerned
In great spirits

But it ain't no lucky Monday
When they got you in a cell
And you're eager to tell your story

Nobody can put a finger on it
Oh yeah
The story keeps on changing, you know
Oh yeah

You said "Take me to DC"
"I can tell my story there"
But at time you just didn't care
Indecisions

When you met your maker
They accepted your testimony
In all their fake humility
Indecisions

Now nobody's gonna know the truth
Oh yeah, that's right
It's gonna drive everybody mad
Oh yeah, that's right

CHORUS:
Enigmas and mysteries
Among the finest things
For the new seeking crowd

Nobody knew what to do
They were still grieiving
With all their senses sleeping
Indecisions

Nobody knew the real you
You kept things to yourself
With your women on the shelf
For the people

And anyone can disagree
Oh yeah
Circumstance is plain to see
Oh yeah, that's right

Such a tragic tale
Don't let it get you down
It was meant to go down, can't you see

Try to remember
That old Texas pride
Can take anyone for a ride
In the hour

So slap your back on the wicker chair
Oh yeah that's right
And study all the latest theories
Oh yeah that's right

REPEAT CHORUS:

Isn't it great where ideas for songs come from sometimes? You definitely refined it into a cool tune. Never heard the original version, but this sounds great. Love the vibe of it.
