I wake up each morning
With the sleep in my eyes
Not really knowing 
What sort of surprise

Is it some vomit
Or a hairball gone wrong?
Perhaps it’s some kibble
On the floor that’s been thrown?


It’s the lament of the catbox
A cleaning that’s time to do
No one else who can do it
Got those catbox cleaning blues

Perhaps my new lover
Could help me out
Here take this shovel
Just mix it about

I’ll give you a baggie
Into which it is thrown
I know, it’s my kitty
A chore I must own

Why don’t you take her
And let her live for a week
Can’t stand this litter
It’s starting to reek
