There’s a rumble in the distance,
A growl from the clouds, 
Who are not happy 
With the way things are going.

They snarl as the storm gathers, 
Churning the skies 
With a gray mood.

The anger builds,
As the clouds knit their brows.

Out of nowhere
Lightning snaps through the trees
Pointing its accusatory finger,
And blaming the ground below.

Torrential tears are shed
As the skies unload,
The soil soaking up the anguish
Until it can hold no more.

Puddles flood 
With the water. 
Not knowing which way to go,
They pool in circles,
Unsure of themselves.

The clouds finally break 
And the sky quiets,

The sun peeking
Around the corner, 
With its soothing eye, 
Letting everyone know that 
The pointless argument has passed.

Everyone goes their separate ways,
But it won't be long
Until the sky darkens
And blame is cast again.
