Things testers should know :)

26-Jul-2023 | 11:11 AM
Hi all you fabulous testers! :)
Please refresh yourselves with a re-read of tester goals:

Thanks!
As we invite you into the pre-launch phase of iBandstand, we liken this to a tour of a house still under construction. We ask you to look beyond the scaffolding, to explore, test, and provide your invaluable feedback on this evolving site.
Our developmental process is guided by the principle of a "Minimum Viable Product" (MVP). This ensures we remain focused on establishing the core functionalities of iBandstand initially, while planning for the introduction of additional, more complex features over time. For instance, aspects from the old site such as the Backstage Dashboard and certain statistical and display options will not be present in the initial launch, but remain in our developmental roadmap for subsequent roll-outs.
Please note that the right column on each page, with the exception of the chat function, represents placeholders awaiting full development.
From a technical standpoint, we wish to inform you that our current date and time displays are set to the UTC timezone. If this proves to be an inconvenience, we are open to considering localization to each user's timezone.
As we fine-tune and finalize our platform, we anticipate that all data and files may need to be purged before the public launch. This is necessary to enable potential database adjustments and to transition site management from a personal to a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) setting. Therefore, we strongly urge you to BACK UP YOUR DATA.
Here's how you can actively participate in this critical testing phase:
  • Engage with the site: Share songs, write blogs, comment on posts, and initiate discussions in our forums.
  • Monitor site performance: Watch out for any functional issues or visual inconsistencies.
  • Clarify: If you find any processes or elements confusing, please let us know. Your feedback can help us enhance our Help section.
  • Suggest: If you believe any essential features are missing, we welcome your suggestions.
  • All feedback, thoughts, and suggestions should be posted in Forums > Comments & Suggestions. This will serve as our focal point for site discussions during the testing phase.

Our aspiration is to officially introduce iBandstand to the public on August 11th, the 5-year anniversary of iCompositions' retirement. However, readiness is more important than a symbolic deadline. As such, we will engage in an open dialogue with you, our trusted testers, as we approach the potential launch date. When the vast majority of us believe the site is ready to launch, it will launch.
