I miss my comrades in New Zealand, and with them busy planning their big day, I haven't been able to make much music lately. Not wanting to go too long without playing, I recorded over 15 takes and layered them in Pro Tools.
Pietr—truly the grand master of mixing—has taught me a thing or two, so I decided to stick with his presets rather than tweaking the settings out of nerves. So, I hope it doesn't end up sounding too muddy.
For this piece, I used my Ovation Applause Elite Acoustic Electric Guitar, which has such a beautiful tone.
It was inspired by the many nature walks I went on in New Zealand, with my guitar and playing it at these isolated spots (I always made sure nobody was around).
There’s no singing in this one today. Hope you enjoy it!
