I try not to post songs sooner than 5-7 days apart, BUT WHAT THE HECK!

Whilst digging around recently in old files stored on DVD I found this little experiment from back in 2010.

My friend Sergio, whose family runs a wonderful Mexican restaurant here in Salem Oregon, had showed me his Andean Charango.
It is a small lute-like instrument.

Well I couldn't resist asking him if I could borrow it for a couple of days. He smiled and said: 'Of course!'
I jammed on it for a day or two and came up with this piece.

I then visited my good friend Dan, and borrowed an ethnic drum and a couple shakers from him.

The original recording was dedicated to Feter McBlues, a friend and fellow MacJammer, and was called 'Feter Dancing.'
(Pun intended!) He had recently escaped to the USA from a terrible situation in the Middle East.

I have edited, remixed, remastered, and retitled it for this posting.

I hope some of you can enjoy my little foray into World Music!

I can absolutely appreciate trying something new, be it in musical styles or one's choice of musical instruments. Like an unfamiliar food, it all keps life more interesting! :)

I agree. Sometimes I get a little bored with my OWN usual approach. When that happens I just GOTTA try something different. Once it's out of my system, THEN I can get back to business as usual with a clear conscience.

Nicely done Mike ! It's always interesting to see what comes out of plucking around on an instrument with more strings than you're used to. Not too sure about the Alpaca stew though I would try it....ha ha

I am munching on carrots as I listen but nothing like that appetizing photo and I love this music from you. Reminds me of a mandolin? one could belly dance to this. Magnificent
