Song information
My sister came over and we recorded a song she wrote. Recorded this live, her on guitar & singing, me playing a cheap electric bass (out of tune). I was playing bass with my thumb, so it sounds thumpy, lol. I overdubbed a soft shaker afterwards to make it sound more steady. Gonna add some things, like a background vocal counter-melody in the empty spaces - I can hear it.

This is more like a rough draft, I’m going to try and come up with some additional parts to go with the song. If you have any suggestions please give them. Thanks for listening!

This is a great song.   It may sound rough, but that actually adds to the charm here.   I really like the chords here, as well as the singing. Reminds me a bit of Phoebe Snow, who I've always liked.

This is a great song. I would suggest you run a stem splitter on this and get separate tracks for vocals, guitar, bass and percusion into a DAW. You could then redo the bass, but there is software that can pitch shift it. There are a few parts where vocal harmony would fit. I am thinking in the verse for the second repeat of lines such as "heart can really show". The chorus does not need vocal harmony but it does need some extra instrumentation to fill it out and lift it. By 4:00 the song could fade out but there are some nice chord changes after this that could be worked into the song earlier. There are some breaks in the song, the first at 1:10. These need some careful arranging. You did ask for suggestions!

That some good suggestion, zinc.  Wish I hadn't of played the bass, I can't play worth a hoot but it is such a fun instrument.  Tried splitting the stems but can't get a clean rip, we may just have re-record this one fresh before moving forward.
