OK... just one more song before I go.

:-)

This is a somewhat revised oldie from back in 2007 or 2008.

The original consisted of Me and Roxylee on vocals, with
Paul F. Page on piano and synthesized cello. It was also
a bit shorter.

I have added drums and electric guitar, and expanded the middle
section for some lead soloing.

I then remixed and remastered it the best I could. (The original
files were neither well recorded nor well preserved.)

The lyrics and the music were written back in 1973.

I had a folk-Gospel group at the time, and we regularly
performed at our church. There was an elderly couple who used
to attend who were big fans of our music. One day only the wife
came. It turned out her husband had just passed away, and she
was struggling spiritually.

While praying, a poem of twelve verses came to her. She gave it to me, and asked if I could put it to music. I said I would try.
I cut the verses down to a manageable length, and then worked
out the music on an acoustic guitar.

The next time she came to church we performed it. She
absolutely loved the song!

That was the last time we ever saw her, for she shortly
thereafter joined her husband in the land of Light.

Great song. Really good. While you are without Internet it gives you time to wrote a complete rock opera or concept album. You know. The kind from the time where minds were free like Tommy or The Wall. All you need is skill, time, and an idea. You just miss the idea.
