I lived in Omaha for twenty-one years. What a great town, a lot of wonderful people there, plenty of good memories. But the winters can be long, merciless, and unpredictable. My wife and I had the opportunity to live in Mexico for a couple of winters. We eventually fell in love with the desert southwest. We then decided to move to Tucson in 2018. This mellow, James Wilsey-inspired instrumental came to me somewhere in the middle of New Mexico where in the distant horizon you could just make out a mountain range. My thoughts in that moment were, “Goodbye heartland, I am going where the weather suits my clothes.”
