Hi Everybody! Happy to see the life come back to the site and adding their contributions!
Just want to point out a couple song title guidelines (similar to icomps)
1. Please do not put the name of your collaborator in the title of the song. (ie featuring "vocalist". All that info is captured when you add a collaborators name when uploading the song. Please refrain from long song titles as it truncates the song/music list. Truncating is especially evident when viewing on a phone.
2. Please refrain from using all caps in song titles/usernames and basically anywhere in the site. Nobody needs to yell and nobody needs to use all caps.
3. Please refer to the help/FAQ for more info about the site and how it's been designed to be different from icomps. https://www.ibandstand.com/help
4. Please refrain from responding to every comment in your posted song. There's more info about this in the FAQ.
5. As of today, the forum titles don't reflect when a comment is made. This functionality might change, it might not. So, be advised you might wanna check these particular forum titles in the bottom right section under the chat frequently to see what new word was added to the word association game, other things people have contributed to the forums.
6. Keep having fun, it really feels wonderful to see all the familiar names on the music board, and hoping to see some new people join up too. Invite your music friends and inform them of the guidelines.
7. Please refrain from uploading multiple songs at one time. Icomps had a governing function that spaced uploads from users. I know everyone is excited to upload their stuff. Pacing uploads will help spread things out. This might work itself out when more people are uploading songs.
Another list of info that no one seems to be reading. Please do your part and read the info provided to members throughout the entire site. It's here for you. To help you.
Thanks!
I know this might be a bit far stretched at the moment but... (idea stolen from my label distributor).
When you upload your song and you not meet any of the requirements (like these above in OP) you get a warning about not meeting the requirements and then you can adjust them. What needs to be adjusted is underlined in red.
And only then you can upload.
An idea? Other than that..
