Song information
This was recorded back in 2010 (if memory serves).

I played acoustic guitar and sang.

A Belgian MacJammer by the name of Ives Hengrin composed the orchestration.

While I would love to remix this, the original files were among those lost in the Great Mac Crash of 2011.

So instead of a remix, here is a fine remaster by Tom Hellsten of TSTstudios. Thanks bro!

Why did I wait till September to post this? I guess I’m a tad anal! LOL…

Enjoy!

Lyrics
AFTER AUGUST

I
In a desert dream I found you.
The blinding light of day,
shown down on our circumstance.
Hot winds bid us stay, and
spin the wheel of fortune once more.
A decades old fantasy!
And from the clay of confusion,
carve a new destiny;
a place we can be free,
a nitch in time for you and me.

II
Sideways glances.
Salad dances.
Kitchen choreography.
Awkward stances.
Thwarted chances.
A host of possibilities;
mmm…
—never meant to be.

III
August loomed on the horizon,
—a promise hollow as a lie.
A gift wrapped in hidden truths,
concealing fast an empty sigh.
As the heart kept watch
 from longings’ tower,
—straining for some kind of sign;
Summer shed her frail petals,
and August she blew right on by…
—brought a single tear to my eye;
—coloring the Autumn sky
Vermillion.

Nevermind whether August or Sept, this is very good music with diverse treatments. I've been too structured in my writings, too predictable. Maybe listening more of your stuff may influence me. Yes, I can be influenced! Good stuff!

Marvellous music with that little Game of Throne touch to it. Wow, the instrumental part is awesome, love it. I like the delicacy of your vocal performance here.

Hey thanks Thierry. A ways back I tried to re-do this song in order to get a better sound on the guitar, but I couldn't reproduce that vocal no matter how hard I tried. I guess once you're no longer in the zone...
Anyway bro, I'm glad you enjoyed this one, in spite of not being a big fan of folk music.

This is gorgeous !!... Such an amazing vocal performance that reminds me of the great Simon and Garfunkel. This made me simply stop everything and just sit back and close my eyes , This is one of those songs that demand replays .... Faved for MANY more listens

Your voice and guitar are five star all the way.  I had visions of Jim Croce and Greg Lake after hearing some of this.   Really fantastic orchestration as well.
