Song information
The chorus was originally written in 1996, and it was meant to be part of a hard rock song that would have been about the hunt and slaying of an evil dragon. I was never able to come up with rest of the words and so the idea vanished. Fast forward to 2011. I brought the chorus I had written back for an acoustic tune. The result was about Whidbey Island, a day getaway for most Seattleites. The first verse was about a beach park, where apparently dumb teenagers would try to jump the cliffs where there were signs all around saying "Keep Off, Erosion Danger." Plus, you couldn't walk too far from the car as you didn't want to be strolling around out there when the tide came in. The second and third verse were about the woods of Whidbey, where if you saw someplace to hike or check out, you never knew how long it would take to do the whole thing, sometime you'd run to try and complete things.
