I'd like to. However, every video would need to be checked, because some sicko could come along and post something horrific. Manually checking each video wouldn't be realistic, so that leaves some kind of AI solution. If it's affordable, I'd have to learn how to incorporate it. So it's not a trivial thing to do. At least that's the way I see things, but maybe some of you have ideas of how to more easily make it a reality?
I guess you have a valid point Vids need to be scanned prior posting & it requires time maybe if some reliable iband member would volunteer to check the video content prior approval would you consider exploring this possibilty? i would recommend Alanatomic :)
I'm using AI to create images relevant to the song/story. It is hit or miss, but sometimes apt. I've not taken the time for quality control, yet https://rumble.com/v4wie5u-time-passages-oddball.html
Is it appropriate to leave a video link to the same song in the description? I've been doing video for more music in the last 3-4 years--especially lyric videos for vocal & choral music. Makes it much easier for the listener to follow and understand, and more FB user friendly.
There is a possibility that iBandstand could turn out to be another youtube, people would find this site, see videos, and think "mmm, let me see, I'll post a video of me and my friends being stupid, then I'll post some TikTok", even when using AI, differentiating between an actual music video and TikTok playing music in the background can be right close to being impossible, it actually takes a human to see the difference, but as Dr_J mentioned, manually scanning and rejecting any that are not music videos, can and will take up hours of someone life, so, a suggestion would be if music videos are going to be allowed, then apply that same principal to uploading music, only upload 1 video every 24hrs, and also, new members will not be able to post videos unless they've been a member for 24hrs, but they can still post music, also, members would need moderator approval after uploading the videos, and assign someone to manage posted videos, a sort of 'video moderator', that only has access to moderating uploaded videos, then he/she would see the video and either approve or deny it. Something to wrap yer head around.
Something else also to consider, MP3 music files are really small around 3-4MB, but videos can be super huge, even a 5 minutes MP4 can be as big as 500MB depending on codec, bitrate, and resolution, and MOV files can exceed 10GB, which would mean a restriction of video quality to save storage space.
