Here’s another sentimental song from the 1940’s played on my old wore-out trumpet showed in the song picture. The Gypsy is a very famous and intimate standard. I tried to give it some unusual chords to make it sound more ‘torchy’ and intimate.
The raw brass of the old trumpet, and its damaged bell, give it a much darker and softer sound than a standard trumpet. It also has a small air leak which gave it a little breathy sound. The intonation problems of the horn are apparent, but its soft tone makes up for it.
Made on an iPad. The bass sound is from SampleTank, vibes from BeatHawk, Strings and other synth sounds from Korg iM1 and Mood Units.
Thank you @Venturesome , @yoslounge , @KennethLavrsen and @Wyndsok . I'm going to try and get this old trumpet fixed up a bit, I think it would make a good jazz horn. Thanks for listening!
Thanks @FrancoJazz . The Korg M1 was a great keyboard. The Korg iM1 synth app for iPad has the sounds of the original M1, and also the Korg T series sounds. Thanks for listening!
