for someone to complete me.

Then there you were, late one night
a-standing in my dream.
I could not believe my eyes.
I asked: “What can this mean?”

A simple smile was your reply,
as I looked in your shining eyes.
I fell in love! I can’t deny it;
but then came the morning light.
Then came the morning light…

I awoke to the bitter day.
All trace of you was blown away.
I was left with your memory;
and your smile, it kept haunting me…

But life, it goes on.
Three long years had passed.
The dream nearly forgotten,
—a relic of my past.

Then you appeared one sunny day,
a-standing right in front of me.
I could not believe my eyes!
You were the woman from my dream!

All the old feelings flooded back,
as your eyes did shine at me.
It was that very moment I knew,
you are my destiny.
You are my destiny…

Hold on to your dreams,
whatever else you may do.
It’s a strange strange fact of life:
sometimes dreams come true!
